frequently asked questions

A meticulously created shampoo in solid form that’s naturally nourishing and conditioning leaving your hair healthy along with that yummy lustre.

Commercial shampoos out there are made up of various detergents, petroleum based surfactants and synthetic materials that are quite obviously, not good for your hair. They strip your scalp and hair of it’s natural oils and moisture, leaving them addicted to those toxic chemicals. Even the ones that claim to be natural are made up of majorly water which makes it impossible for it to be bacteria-free.

Not only that, they come in plastic and plastic is toxic. That’s why, at the sw:tch fix, we are committed to creating high-quality, all-natural, life-friendly shampoo bars that promotes a healthy environment for a rad hair day, every day.

Yes, we only use high-quality, all-natural, all-healthy natural ingredients.

we’ve used Sodium hydroxide which is commonly known as Lye. Since the bars are made using ‘cold process’, they are left to cure for over 2-3 weeks. at the end of it, we get bars that are always mild and healthy, with no bad chemicals.

Cold process enables us to have maximum control over ingredients to not only retain their natural goodness but also the byproduct of soap making; glycerin which is a moisturizing agent for your skin. Meticulously crafted, given weeks to take form, we promise you mild, gentle and most importantly, a healthy experience.

It takes time to get over a break-up, even if its a toxic relationship. switching to shampoo bars is your scalp learning to function properly all over again after breaking up with toxic plastic bottled shampoo.

Conventional shampoos and conditioners, even some that claim to be natural, contain waxes, silicones or other additives that coat your hair to make it feel smooth.

Since our natural shampoo bars do not strip hair like detergent based shampoos, you may notice your hair feels different immediately after washing because your hair is accustomed to the squeaky clean feel of detergent based shampoo.

Switching from conventional shampoo to a natural shampoo bar often means a transition or adjustment period. While many folks have little problem with their hair adjusting to a new routine, some do.

Since everyone’s hair is unique it is difficult to tell you exactly what your transition, if any, will look and feel like. Your hair may feel greasier than normal or it may even feel drier than normal. It may feel waxy, coated or just weird.

This transition period, which can range from a few days to a few weeks or even a month, is literally a time for your hair, which has been addicted to chemical-laden shampoos, to go through withdrawal, and learn to live a chemical-free life. It’s not easy!

It may take some patience, but if you can persevere, your reward will be that healthy shine that will make you want to check yo’self out!

For many, the switch is easy but for few, the switch needs that teeny weeny extra support.

if you’re new to natural shampoo bars, it is important to provide extra strength to your hair during this period by oiling them before every wash.

Solid shampoo bars function better when used with soft water. It’s the minerals in hard water that cause the scales on the hair to stand up. The soap molecules will “grab” the minerals in the hard water and leave those deposits in your hair. This will give you a “waxy” feeling, and your hair will look like straw when it’s dry. If you can’t change the water you use to wash your hair, here’s something you can try to tackle the hard water condition in your area: Apple Cider Vinegar Wash. All you have to do is add a couple of tablespoons to a water and use that mixture after shampooing your hair.  You can pour the mixture onto wet hair. Massage it onto your scalp and ends. Let it sit for a couple of minutes. You can rinse it all out. or try leaving it in your hair for detangling (works on longer hair). Just remember that dry hair uses less vinegar as compared to oily hair.

Our shampoo bars will last you from anywhere between a month to two depending on usage. Just store it in a dry place.

detergents are such unimaginative way to create lather. different oils when saponified give different densities of lather. we have mixed oils in a proportion that the lather is always rich and creamy.

nope! since we use only high-quality natural ingredients, there are no known side effects of using our shampoo bars.

Most people find that shampoo bars are easier on color treated hair than commercial shampoos.  But since everyone’s hair and coloring products are different, please do a strand test to judge for yourself.
