What are conditioner bars?
Conditioner bars are solid conditioners. They’re typically made with a mixture of oils, butters, and other moisturizing and conditioning agents. They’re easy to use. You simply wet the bar and apply it along your wet hair a couple of times in one direction. After a couple of strokes, you find your hair becoming smoother and easy to detangle.
Why are they better than liquid conditioners?
Unlike solid conditioners which are water-free, liquid conditioners are 90% water. They come packed in plastic bottles. While you may end up finishing your conditioner in a month’s time, the plastic bottle sticks around forever.
Regular liquid conditioners are made with petroleum-based chemicals and are non-biodegradable. They end up coating your hair with silicones which ultimately suffocates your hair and leaves it brittle and dry. These chemicals also accumulate in our water sources as they are non-biodegradable.
Why is it vital to pair up your shampoo bar with a conditioner bar?
Shampoos or shampoo bars or any kind of cleansing agent you apply on your scalp are meant to cleanse your scalp. They work by mixing with and removing the oils, dirt, grime found on your scalp. To make sure your hair retains enough moisture to keep it smooth and moisturized, it’s important to apply conditioner after much-needed shampooing.
