What makes scalp care just as important as hair care?
The health of your scalp impacts the health of your hair. Treating your scalp is like taking care of the soil in which your plants are growing. Improperly managing scalp inflammation may affect hair quality and existence.

Our scalp contains about 100,000 follicles and only a single hair grows from each of these. Follicles also produce oil or sebum to keep the scalp skin moisturized and infection-free. The scalp is coated with millions of hair follicles and includes its own microbiome. The imbalance of the scalp microbiome has been linked to dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis (a condition that causes dandruff and scaly patches), and atopic dermatitis (eczema). These issues often lead to rough hair, hair breakage, and reduced hair shine. Furthermore, they may also cause premature hair loss. Scalp care is the new haircare.
Why does your scalp deserve your attention?
Extreme weather conditions caused by climate change and other environmental stressors lead to the weakening of the scalp barrier; focusing on scalp health is the need of the hour. A broken or damaged scalp barrier is unable to retain moisture and is left extremely dry and dehydrated. This leads to aging of the scalp, dry and brittle hair, hair fall and overall loss of shine.

If that sounds like you, we recommend checking out our Magic Shrooms Haircare Range. While all our products in some form or the other help make the scalp barrier stronger, this range helps do that even when there are extreme weather conditions.

3 Simple ways to care for your scalp
1. Watch out for the ‘cones’: Products work their way down your hair shaft and so it’s important to avoid products that may suffocate your scalp. A simple trick to watch out is to avoid products that use ingredients ending in ‘cone’ (silicone, dimethicones, trimethicones). These products may make your hair seem soft and supple but they will block your scalp.
2. Avoid the toxicity: One should avoid other obvious irritants such as products with high alcohol content – these would be sticky gels, mousses and hair sprays. These can cause your scalp to become extremely dry.
3. Use scalp-friendly products: While one must actively avoid products that are known to damage the scalp, it is also necessary to incorporate products that have been specifically created for your scalp type. Our entire haircare range has been designed to cater to different scalp types.
